 About Us

Elk Valley Chapel is a small non-denominational church whose people profess a living
faith. Our faith is rooted and grounded in Jesus Christ who is the same today, yesterday
and forever. The sole authority for our faith and practice is Jesus Christ whose will is
revealed in the Holy Scriptures.

Our dress code for services is very casual. The women usually wear dresses,
although some prefer jeans. Most of the men usually wear slacks or jeans.
Simply put, wear whatever you feel comfortable wearing.
We stand on the Word of God,  not on your appearance.

Our Beliefs

    1. We believe....in the one true living God, the Creator of all things, revealed in three persons...Father, Son
and Holy Spirit (commonly known as The Trinity).
     2. We believe....in Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God. Conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the
Virgin Mary. He died on the cross, was buried, rose from the dead and ascended into heaven.
    3. We believe....that the books of the old and new testament constitute the Holy Scriptures. They are the
written Word of God and are superior to all human authority.
     4. We believe....that every person is created in the image of God.
     5. We believe....in water baptism by immersion after salvation is in obedience to the command of Christ. All
who repent and believe in Christ and as Saviour and Lord are to be baptized.
     6. We believe....in the laying on of hands.
     7. We believe....in the church to be the Body of Christ, and consists of the people who have accepted God's offer
of redemption through the death of His son Jesus Christ.
     8. We believe....in holy communion (the Lord's Supper) as remembrance of Christ's suffering and death for our
                                  salvation.
     9. We believe....in the second coming of Christ. At His return He will fulfill all prophecies made concerning His
final and complete triumph over evil.
   10. We believe....in the resurrection of the dead. The raised body will be a spiritual body, but the person will be
                                   whole and identifiable.
   11. We believe....that there will be a final judgment for those who have rejected Christ. They will be judged for their
sins and their punishment will be eternal in a lake of fire.
  12. We believe....that there is an existence after death. The final destiny of each person is determined by God's grace.
